It is clear the family moved from Chesterfield to Worksop abt 1911 and from Worksop to Holmfirth between 1925 and 1932.

It is thought that Joseph, and perhaps brother Frank and father Samuel worked on Holme valley Memorial Hospital (opened 1920) and Brownhill reservoir (opened 1932).

In 1920 Samuel would be 45, son Joseph would have been 14 and son Harry 12. Son Frank would have been only 2

In 1932, Samuel would have been 57, Joseph 26, Harry 24 and Frank 14

There is a photograph (on Joseph Tidmarshes page) of Joseph working on the reservoir with his future brother in law, James Howard
