Robert Stewart and Gersal Auchinclas were married on 10 Jan 1747 as recorded in births and marriages for Paisley, Low Parish, Scotland. The children of Robert and Gersal are included in records of births for Paisley, Low Parish, Scotland ranging from 1748 to 1764. In the monumental inscriptions of Paisley Laigh Churchyard in Renfrewshire, Scotland there is an inscription for Robert Stewart and wife, Gersal Auchinclas, 1762. I believe at this time that that date is when their daughter, Janet, their sixth child, died in 1762 and they needed a burial spot. I do not believe they both died in 1762 as their son, William Stewart, was born to them in 1764. I do believe that by December 1792 when their son, Dr. Alexander Stewart died, leaving a will for property in Pennsylvania, that they were deceased as there is no mention of them in Alexander’s will.
