'Susanna, dau. of Thomas Poyntz of North Okenden, Esquire, and sister of Sir Gabriel Poyntz, --- a very ancient family recorded in Visitation of Essex, ... was wife of Sir Richard fifty years, and she had five sons and ten daughters.'

In her written account of her husband, shortly after his funeral, she indicates that "he had yssue fower sons & nine daughters", whom she lists as follows (with spouses for most of them):
    - Richard, eldest (surviving) son and heir
    - Samuel, second son, unmarried
    - Peter, third son
    - Edward, fourth son, unmarried
    - Anne, first daughter
    - Susanna, second daughter
    - Hester, third daughter
    - Elizabeth, fourth daughter
    - Sara, fifth daughter
    - Marie, sixth daughter
    - Judithe, seventh daughter
    - Martha, eighth daughter
    - Abigaell, ninth daughter

On page 7, the author adds son Gilbert (who predeceased his father in 1585) and daughter Eleanor, who presumably also predeceased her father.
