1. In 1752 a group of English Quakers sailed from England to America and landed at Charleston, SC. They travelled up the Wateree River to Pine Tree Hill (now known as Camden, SC) where they established their first home. Joshah Tomlinson and his wife Olive Unthank were among this group.
