  2. Source:Russell, George Ely. Descendants of William Russell of Salem, Mass. 1674 (which generally seems carefully researched), p. 26, adds a son John Russell whose birth cannot be found. On p. 50-51, he cites "Family record, Mrs. Vivian Nogle" as the source of this placement. Nothing described about John, nor found, shows any connection to this family. He married at Fitchburg, moved to Vermont and named no children Jonathan or Hannah, though the use of Flint as a name may reflect some connection (or some other relationship). His wife was from Littleton and there is a Russell family of Littleton that is different than the Ruseell family of Danvers.
