[edit] Confusion and SpeculationThere were at least three different Irish couples named John and Johanna Walsh with children born in the 1870's and/or 1880's, and most trees seems to conflate two or three of them into a single family. One couple (this family) appears to be John and Johanna (Kinnerk) Walsh of County Limerick, one was John and Johanna (Ahern) Walsh of County Limerick, and a third was John and Johanna (Ahern) Walsh of County Cork. Most of the children of the latter two couples have records that identify the maiden name of their mother (Ahern). For the couple listed in County Limerick in the 1901 census[2], the only marriage (registered with the government) between a John Walsh and a Johanna in County Limerick at about the right time appears to be that of John Walsh and Johanna Kenerk/Kinnerk[1]. I couldn't easily find any evidence online for the mother's maiden name of the children in the 1901 census, to confirm that this is the marriage that matches the 1901 census record. It is also speculation that the wife in this marriage was the Johanna Kinnerk who was baptized in 1849. The 1901 census record suggests that she was born in 1853. However, the 1849 baptism is the only record of a Johanna Kinnerk born/baptized in County Limerick within 5 years of 1853. References
