"Peters, … John, m. Mary Marcks, Apr. 13, 1717 [1:78]"
↑ Numerous (unsourced) internet pages identify this Marah Mack as the wife of John Peters of Hebron. However, Edmond Peters, in Peters of New England, pp. 152-56, has John Peters of North Brookfield and Hebron marrying Mary Marks, daughter of Joseph Marks of Springfield and North Brookfield. Based on Mr. Peters discussion, it appears much more likely that Mary Marks of Brookfield, rather than Mary Mack of Lyme, was the wife of John Peters. The "Marah/Mary Mack" identification should be treated with a great deal of caution.
