History of Boxford, Essex County, Massachusetts from the Earliest Settlement Known to the Present Time, p. 396, gives the date "Nov., 1---". Source:Torrey, Clarence Almon. New England Marriages Prior to 1700, says "3 Nov 16[88-92?]". The basis for the partial date of "3 Nov." is not known, not all the sources being inspected, though all appear to be secondary, so until the basis is documented, no reason is seen to think they are more authoritative than the sources cited. Given the uncertainty in year, the most correct thing to do seems to be to say "before 1693", i.e., before the birth of the first child.
