Evidence is provided showing that Ichabod Davis "probably" married Bethiah Pepper dau of Joseph Pepper and Mary May, "probably step-daughter" of Joshua Seaver, who loaned £60 to Ichabod Davis "probably his son-in-law", and her uncle Jacob Pepper had "close ties to" Ichabod Davis, and requests "good friend Ichabod Davis" to be guardian of his grandson and "Deacon Davis" was thought "a proper person" to do so.

Source:Essex Institute Historical Collections (Essex Institute Press), Vol. 27, p. 191, says Ichabod Davis m. Bethiah Pepper. Vol. 4, p. 281, is very precise, identifying her as Bethia Pepper, d/o Joseph Pepper and Mary May, b. 6 Nov 1676. This birth is found in Roxbury VRs (Vol. 1, p. 274). It also matches the age at death of Bethiah Davis wife of Mr. Ichabod Davis (NEHGR, Vol. 8, p. 244), in 92d year, so 91, on 23 Apr 1768.
