  6. real estate value $18,000 and personal property $2,000. They have all sixchildren at home: William, Franklin, Henrietta, Christina and Charles.

This was the "original" first home, built by Henry Gieseck. Many Gieseckfamilies continued to live in this house through the years. FranklinPierce Gieseck lived there for a time, until he completed building his"Sears House" on Mink Road. Russell and Janis Gieseck lived there andhad children born in this frame abode. A tile kiln was behind the house, far back in the field, across the creek about 100 yards. There was alane that traveled West from Mink Road all the way back to the woods, the tile kiln sat to the right side of the lane. The lane is stillvisible today back to the creek. Here at the kiln, Henry baked thebricks he used to build his fine home across the road. Currently, allthat remains is maybe an old well. Frederica had the kiln dynamited asshe was afraid someone would get hurt if it was allowed to stand.
  7. living between Mathias Young and son, William. The name is spelled"Giesic". They have five children at home, David, Frank, Christina, Ella(maybe this was Harriet?) and Charles. Also there is Calvin Looker, age25, a worker at tile mill
