The Gideon Moshers lived at Exeter, Rhode Island in 1774 and Charlotte, Dutchess County, New York, by 1782. They were Tories during the Revolutionary War. Gideon lived at Hoosick, Rennsselaer County when married to Mrs. Handy. His name appears in the 1790 census in Norwich, Windsor County, Vermont, and in the 1800 and 1810 census, in Cambridge, Washington County, New York. Gideon's last days were spent with his daughter at Sharon, Vermont. Gideon lived to be about 86 years old.
