Mother

The mother of this family is unknown. Speculation that she was a Marie Bourgeois has been disputed.S1

According to Stephen White, University of Moncton, Germain had four children: Pierre, b.ca1621 in France; Marguerite Louise, b.ca 1625 in France; Germain, b.1641 at Port Royal; and an unnamed daughter who married Pierre Lejeunne dit Briaud ca.1650. These children are proven by analysis of dispensations for marriages of their descendants. S1

    It is impossible for the mother of Germain Doucet's children to have been a sister of Jacque Bourgeois's wife.
    There are possibilities for his second wife, who is also unknown and has no children surviving in Acadia.
