Family:Edward Nix and Unknown (1)

George; I found your name on the RootsWeb Surname List. I have a Mary Ann Nix, b 29 June 1828,Pickens District South Carolina. She was the only daughter in the family of Jennings Nix and Lucinda Alexander. About 1848 she married John D. Nix, (no kin that I have been able to find) and moved to Mississippi where his Mother, Mary Dearest Darling, the widow of Thomas Litleberry Nix, was living. John D. and Mary Ann had 12 children, but I have been able to track only their youngest son, also named John D. Some people have John D. married to Mary Ann Carter, but that is not correct. Several Carters did marry into this NIX family but not Mary Ann Carter. I am attempting to track the families of her other children. This is what I think I know at this time. Does any of this seem to fit into your family?

i am descended from Edward Nix and Catherine Emeline Powell.. Your John Daniel Nix is Edwards older brother and the only thing I have to add to what you sent is Elizabeth J Roberts b. 1853 and m 1880 in Greene Co., Ms. to Edward Nix b. 1857 son of your John D Nix. There is a Nix reunion in Laurel, Ms. each year held in Sept. A good many there are into family research but mainly Edward Nix side. There are one or two on the Donald and King and Carter side.
