    On p. 243 [294]: letter signed by Bela Hubbard, Parish Judge of Assumption Parish, to "The Hon'ble John Moore, parish judge of the Parish of St. Mary. Greeting: You are hereby authorised to celebrate the marriage between Edmund Bourg, son of Maxil Bourg & Caroline Rentrop, of the one part, and wife Marie Ermolise Daigle, daughter of Jean Pierre Daigle and Marie Modeste Arseneaux, of the other part, the said Edmund Bourg, being a resident of this Parish. Parish of Assumption this 16. November 1835."
    On p. 244 [295], permission slip headed "Parish St. Mary Nov 18th 1835" by John P. DAIGLE [bride's father]. "Please Judge Moor [sic] to give license to Edmond BOURG." [This was apparently inadequate--see below.]
    On p. 245 [296], the license issued in St. Mary Parish. "To Thomas Wilcoxon Esqr., Justice of the Peace in and for the Parish of St. Mary: You are hereby authorised and licensed to celebrate the marriage of Edmund Bourg, son of Maxil Bourg of the Parish of Assumption with wife Ermelise Daigle daughter of Jean Pierre Daigle of this Parish The previous requisites of the law having been complied with. Given under my signature & Seal of office this twentieth day of November Eighteen hundred & thirty five. John Moore."
    On p. 246 [297], Jean Pierre DAIGLE gives another consent to the marriage, dated 26 Nov. He made his mark. Witnessed by: Joseph KNIGHT; Marcelien THERIOT.
    On p. 247 [298], marriage bond of three hundred dollars,given on 20 Nov 1835 by Edmund BOURG of Assumption Parish, and cosigned by Augustus RENTROP of Assumption Parish. The license to marry Ermelise DAIGLE of St. Mary Parish was issued that day, and "if there should exist no legal impediment to the marriage ... then the above obligation to bve void."
    On p. 248 [299], marriage by Thomas WILCOXON, officiating officer, on 26 Nov 1835. Both bride and groom made their marks. Witnesses: Augustus RENTROP; Joseph KNIGHT; Marcelien THERIOT. [This could be the actual civil marriage date.]
