David F. Cooper was born in Delaware Co. Ohio, May 28, 1841 and, after coming to Fountain Co. he met and on February 25, 1869 in that County married Mary Ruth Ellis. She was born May 6, 1842 in Manson Go. Ky., the daughter of Robert and Lucinda (Cottey) Ellis. David and Mary were the parents of four children and resided on what is the Paul Jansen Farm on "The Elmdale Rd." David passed away November 21, 1928 and Mary on November 21, 1923 and both were laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro, In. Their family is as follows:

1. Cora Lucinda Cooper, born January 14, 1870 in Sumner, Ill. and on March 30, 1892 she was united in marriage with John A. Price. He was born July 6, 1868 and passed away October 21, 1947 and I assume he was buried in Illinois. Cora passed away August 2, 1956. They were the parents of one child: Everett Price, born April 3, 1893 and passed away September 16, 1899

2. Sherman Ellsworth Cooper was born in Sumner Ill. May 20, 1875 and on June 30, 1903 he married Sylvia Rose Loomis who was born January 5, 1878. I have no idea who her parents were but she passed away April 7, 1962. Sherman spent 10 years in Missionary work in Japan (1905-1915) and his wife returned home in December of 1913 to care for her Mother who passed away February 19, 1914. They lived in Columbus, Ohio and I really don't know if they are buried there or not or if that is where they lived at the time of their deaths. Sherman passed away March 4, 1951. They were the parents of four children all of which, with the exception of one were born in Japan:
a. Bernice Cooper was born in Japan June 13, 1906 and on December 22, 1927 she married Homer Dalrymple, born March 19, 1906. They reside in Grand Rapids Michigan and as far as I know still reside there. They were the parents of three children:
b. Mary Ruth Cooper was born May 6, 1908 in Osaka Japan and on September 2, 1933 she married Richard Dunham who was born December 2, 1909. Mary Ruth passed away September 3, 1971 and her body was donated to science. They however were the parents of three children and resided in Lombard, Ill. The children are:
c. David Cooper was born June 9, 1911 in Japan and on May 1, 1938 was united in marriage with Mary Marshall, born December 2, 1916. They reside in Arlington Va. and are the parents of two children:
d. Robert Wilson Cooper was born June 2, 1916 in Colorado Springs, Colorado and on March 24, 1937 married Gladys O’Rourk, born December 24, 1919. They were the parents of three children, but were divorced October 23, 1962 and he later married Evelyn Daniels born January 8, 1921 and they were married in Grand Rapids Michigan October 27, 1962. Some places they lived are Grand Rapids, Ft. Lauderdale and California. the children are:

3. Clara May Cooper was born May 1, 1877 in Sumner, Ill. and on September 29, 1895 she married Charles E. Bell, born September, 1873 and passed away May 26, 1926. Clara passed away April 15, 1957 in Wanachee, Washington and was buried there as far as I know. They were the parents of three children:
a. David Earl Bell was born June 17, 1896 and on August 12, 1917 he was united in marriage with Ethel Nixon. David passed away June 20, 1937 and they were the parents of three children:
b. Florence Marcella Bell, born March 13, 1898 and on March 19, 1916 she married Harry McMullen, born, April 17, 1892. She passed away December 15, 1979. They have five children:
c. Wendell Ellis Bell, born June 19, 1906 and on March 17, 1928 married Betty Barton, second on April 14, 1935, Doris Thom; and third on June 28, 1952 he married Bernice Kimbal

4. Albert Ivan Cooper was born May 3, 1884 and on May 5, 1906 he married Emma Alice Gilliat who was born August 12, 1885 and passed away December 30, 1940 or 48 Albert passed away either March or August 28, 1953 and was laid to rest in Bridgeport, Ill. They were the parents of five children:
a. Hubert David Cooper was born December 8, 1907 and on March 10, 1934 in Sumner, III he married Doris Seed, born May 30, 1909. He died June 20, 1971.They are the parents of five children also:
b. Vera Lucille Cooper was born October 17, 1910 and passed away September 16, 1949 of TB.
c. Ruth Ilene Cooper, born May 9, 1916 and was married August 22, 1936 to Dayton Barber who was born June 4, 1913 and passed away in June of 1949 in Lansing Michigan. She passed away March 22, 1916
d. Paul Cooper was born January 11, 1920.
e. Mary Margaret Cooper was born May 18, 1923 and on October 12, 1946 she married Russell Cole born January 25, 1925 and died February 23, 1969. They were married December 13, 1946 and second she married. Robert Staley on August 8, 1959 He was born August 22, 1929 and died May 22, 1980. There was one child:
f. Paul Cooperborn January 11, 1926 and died August 25, 1971

This concludes the family of David Frazee Cooper. Collateral on this family was Ruth Dunham, Marion B. Cooper and Mary K. Strong. My thanks to them all. Also I have updated this family with information I received from Joe Cooper in Illinois; Great Grandson of John H. Cooper. Some of the dates are different and some of the names (Middle) are different. Everywhere I have found the name of John Harrison Cooper and David's as David Frazee but according to his records John's name was John Hennian and David's was David Frazier. I'm not sure now which is correct but I hope to find out.
