Oswego Palladium-Times, 21 Jan 1946: DURGEES MARRIED FOR FIFTY YEARS Pulaski-- Friends and neighbors gathered on Jan. 13 to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. C. Wesley Durgee who held a reception at their home on the Salina Street Road from 1:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Refreshments were served which included a three-tiered wedding cake decorated in gold and white. Included in out-of-town guests were their two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Caufield, Pulaski; and Mrs. Mattie Miller, Rome; two sons, Harry Durgee and daughter, Pierrepont Manor; and Cornelius Durgee, Pulaski; two granddaughters, Miss Vinny Caufield and Mrs. Isabelle Kundell and family; a grandson Rodney Caufield and wife, Pulaski; Mrs. Durgee's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Babcock, Syracuse; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Durgee and family, Ilion; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Dodge and family, Syracuse. There were many gifts including a blanket from the neighbors and also a purse of $50. Mr. Durgee was married to Miss Miranda Baker in Jayville, Jan. 13, 1896 by the Rev. J.C. Manning of Harrisville. Attendants were Henry Kaine and Jennie Turner. They have three daughters, Mattie, Eva and Dorothy; and two sons, Harry and Cornelius.

Syracuse Herald Journal, 18 Jan 1946: GOLDEN WEDDING DATE CELEBRATED Pulaski-- Mrs. and Mrs. Wesley Durgee of Syracuse Rd, Route 11 celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday. A reception was held at the home. Mr. and Mrs. Durgee were married at Jayville on Jan 13, 1890 [!] by the Rev. J.C. Manning. She was the former Miss Mirandia Baker. The couple have five children, Mrs. Mattie Miller of Rome, Mrs. Dorothy Caufield, Pulaski, Harry Durgee of Pierrepont Manor, Cornelius Durgee of Pulaski.
