  2.   The marriage is recorded in late 1806, but the first recorded child is in 1817. Source:Wheeler, Albert Gallatin. Genealogical and Encyclopedic History of the Wheeler Family in America, p. 66, only shows the recorded births. However, one would expect there are probably 4 or 5 other children in that gap between marriage and first recorded birth. Source:Cutter, William Richard. Genealogical and Family History of the State of Connecticut, Vol. 2, 858, says Clement moved to New York sometime after his marriage, until he enlisted for the War of 1812. Cutter names two children not shown in Athol records: Royal and Mercy but gives no detail of either. Source:Leland, Sherman. Leland Magazine, or, A Genealogical Record of Henry Leland and His Descendants shows four children prior to Mary Ann, the first recorded birth, namely: Samuel, Royal, Mercy, and George B. Some records have been found to confirm Royal and Mercy, suggesting the Leland Magazine is credible regarding this data, so it has been followed.
