Alderman (1979) Amos was no doubt the son of Samuel Amburn, A revolutionary veteran who came here from Pennsylvania in 1797, and settled on Snake Creek. He was a prominent man, sitting on the county court, but came on hard times, lost his land and moved to Indiana. Amos married in 1831 Anna Burcham, daughter of Levi and Nancy (Stoneman) Burcham.
