There were two similarly aged Alfred Snellings from Crawley - this one who married Ann Sayers and another who married Mary Bowers at Crawley on 8th April 1837. The two Alfreds appear to have been uncle and nephew - the younger Alfred was son of the older Alfred's sister Sarah (who had coincidentally married her cousin, James Snelling). The Alfred who married Ann Sayers has been linked to the Alfred baptised in 1809 on the basis that one of the witnesses to Alfred and Ann's marriage was Louisa Moore, who was the older sister of the Alfred baptised in 1809.
