The marriage bond, dated 23 Dec 1823, says that Hannah is the d/o 'Jno Hughes'. Both Adam Ash and Hannah's brother Martin Hughes signed the bond by making their X. Image of the bond is available at West Virginia Vital Records site. The transcriber of the bond gives Abigail Hughes as mother and has mis-read the father's name as Iona; image reads Jno.

Suzan Wedig, descendant and researcher, has said the actual ceremony was held at Center Point, Harrison Co., Virginia on 25 Dec 1823.
