Henrich Karl (H. C.) Bald and family entered the United States through the Port of Baltimore in mid 1833. They are recorded as entry #1095461 for 30 Sep 1833, listed as H.C. Bald 44, Anna M 46, Henrich 18, Georg 15, Anna M 11, Anna R 7, and Anna Maria 1. All of these can be found in St. Clair County, IL with the possible exception of Henrich.

All five children are recorded in the International Genealogical Index for Wald Amorbach, Starkenburg, Hesse although they are actually in Klein Umstadt. I believe the parish records for the two communities are together at this time. The parents were listed as Henrich Karl Bald and either Anna or Eva Margaretha Heil. Johann Henrich was christened 22 Aug 1815, Johann Georg 8 Oct 1818, Margaretha 11 Mar 1821, Regina 27 Sep 1826, and Maria 6 Nov 1831. There is no further record of Balds at that time since the church suffered a fire from bombing in WW II, while the Heils can be traced back through a family history made by their family according to Karl-Heinz Jungermann who searched the local records.

Henrich Karl Bald and Eva Margaretha Elisabetha Heil were married 7 Aug 1814 according to the church book consulted by Jungermann. Eva's parents were Georg Ludwig Heil and Anna Maria Bausch.

There is no further trace of Johann Henrich Bald after his entry at Baltimore.

Johann Georg Bald married Margaretha Barbara Dressel in St Clair County, IL 2 May 1840. The Dressels were neighbors in Dutch Hill Prairie in that county according to Martha Mae Schmidt, Dutch Hill Prairie. George died 8 May 1878 and is the father of those Balds still connected to St Clair County.

Anna Margaretha Bald married Frederick Wildy 12 Jun 1836 and died in 1844. Anna Regina Bald married Johann Valentin Waeltz 31 Jul 1845 and died 25 Juan 1849. Anna Marie Bald married Henry Gruenewald 24 May 1848 and died in Shumway, Effingham County, IL 25 Apr 1882 accord to Dutch Hill Prairie.
