--pkeegstra 11:48, 6 November 2015 (UTC) [add comment] [edit] De Ronde Vennen [9 November 2015]Thank you for your contributions to the WR site. I have done some work on the Heijns/Heyns family because they are a prominent family in the CRC and Calvin College. (But I had not known that my cousin's wife had a Heyns as brother-in-law. Thanks for finding that!) Mijdrecht was reorganized into 'De Ronde Vennen' in 1989. Please do not spend extra effort changing Mijdrecht, Utrecht to Mijdrecht, De Ronde Vennen, Utrecht for events before 1989. Note that the WR place page heirarchy is set up as it existed in 1900, the so0-called "1900 rule". I do not know if there is a page in Nederlands describing this convention. Also, if you wish to affirmatively assert that someone is deceased, the preferred way to do so is to write 'Y' (Ja) instead of 'Onbekend' in the "Description" line for the death event. (Persons born less than 110 years ago require such a notation to silence the warning for living persons.) --pkeegstra 11:46, 9 November 2015 (UTC) [add comment] [edit] Landman [15 January 2016]I have a Landman family in my tree, and I noticed you just added a marriage to a Landman, maybe they are connected? I have Wife: Landman, Fronika Birth 18 October 1867 Workum, Friesland, Nederland Death
Fronika married Husband: Frehe, Melchior Hermanus Josephus Birth 6 January 1861 Ubbergen, Gelderland, Nederland Death 21 July 1936 Overveen, Nord Holland, Nederland Father Frehe, Herman Joseph (23 October 1815 - 27 December 1888) Mother Boerboom, Petronella (17 January 1822 - 18 February 1888) Marriage Leeuwarden, Friesland, Nederland 12 January 1895 they had 7 children.--Rmg 14:45, 15 January 2016 (UTC) [add comment] [edit] All Uppercase? [22 August 2017]I'm not understanding why you're changing pages to convert the month names from all lowercase to all uppercase. It's not for consistency because the rest of the family remains all lowercase. All 3 of uppercase ('AUG'), lowercase ('aug'), and titlecase ('Aug') are permitted by WR, with the overall preference being titlecase 'Aug' and the guidance being to balance overall preferred case with consistency among the adjacent family pages. (I understand why a Dutch contributor would prefer lowercase but I don't understand why to convert that to uppercase.) --pkeegstra 12:46, 22 August 2017 (UTC) At some point there were 3 different types of date used by people that had some parts of family in common: all uppercases, all lowercases and uppercase combined with lowercases. Therefore I decided to follow the one with most relevant. And this was all uppercase. Sorry for this inconvenience. I am changing from lower to upper also to make sure I have reviewed. May sound stupid, but works for me. Problem is that it is not always easy to see if the cases were mine from the past or others...--Wiswal 13:51, 22 August 2017 (UTC) It looks like I'm guilty too. The families Gerrit Heijns and Jannetje Pos and Frederik Heijns and Elsje van Leeuwen are consistently all lowercase except for Willem Heijns, Nicolaas Heijns, and Willem Wijnand Heijns (mine). I understand that it's hard to make everything consistent, but it would be nice to have these families, which are so close to consistent, be consistent. P.S. 'maa' is not obvious to an English speaker, I assume that's 'mar', right? --pkeegstra 21:37, 22 August 2017 (UTC) [add comment] [edit] Pages with no real info [14 April 2020]Looks like you were having problem adding page(s) for Marretje Kimmel. https://www.werelate.org/wiki/Person:Marretje_Kimmel_%281%29 (male, no links) https://www.werelate.org/wiki/Person:Marretje_Kimmel_%282%29 (female with husband of same name, no other links) If you don't plan on doing anything more with these pages, can you please delete them. As they are, they don't add any value to WeRelate. Just so you know, I am trying to ensure there are no pages for living individuals, and the next time I come across these pages, I will delete them if they have not been updated. Thanks--DataAnalyst 16:12, 14 April 2020 (UTC) [add comment] [edit] Van der Wal family Herwijnen [21 apr 2020]hi @Wiswal, i added some info to this family and left your notes untouched. Feel free to consolidate our joint efforts. I use www.geldersarchief.nl because that is a closer source than the national wiewaswie.nl site. Thanks Ron woepwoep 03:47, 21 April 2020 (UTC) Hi Ron, thanks for the additional comments and the heads up on Gelders Archief. Keep up the good work! BR wiswal--Wiswal 06:05, 21 April 2020 (UTC) [add comment] [edit] Events before birth [22 June 2021]Hi I wrote a report to find pages with events before birth. You were the last contributor on a few of them. I'm sure you'll want to fix the errors - probably mostly typos in dates. Thanks--DataAnalyst 17:42, 22 June 2021 (UTC) Person:Neeltje Kaldenberg (1) [add comment] [edit] Pages for living people [20 December 2021]Hi As you probably know, WeRelate doesn't allow pages for living people, which it defines as anyone born in the last 110 years for whom there is no death date. We are getting more rigorous about enforcing this policy. If you have death dates for any of the people below, please enter them. Otherwise, their pages will be deleted in about a month. Please let me know if you need more time. Thanks--DataAnalyst 14:39, 20 December 2021 (UTC) Person:Anna Krispijn (2) [add comment] [edit] Pages without dates [20 December 2021]Hi, again To ensure there are no pages for living people, WeRelate no longer allows trees without dates. The pages below will be deleted in about a month unless dates are added. Let me know if you need more time. Thanks--DataAnalyst 14:40, 20 December 2021 (UTC) Person:Alida Wolterbeek (1) [add comment] [edit] More pages for potentially living people [10 October 2023]Hi The pages below are for people who are most likely deceased, but we can't be sure. Could you please add dates for them so that we can be sure they are deceased. I'd like to get this cleaned up by fall 2023 if possible. Thanks for your help.--DataAnalyst 15:31, 6 February 2023 (UTC) Person:Wilhelmus Hoogeveen (1) Hi I notice you have done some work on this list. Do you think you can complete the rest by the end of September? I'm trying to get a sense of how much work I will have to do. Pages without dates will have to be deleted if we can't tell whether or not they are living. Thanks.--DataAnalyst 15:20, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
[add comment] [edit] Pages for potentially living people [4 April 2024]Hi You may have realized by now that I am alerted to new pages for people who are potentially living. From now on, I will delete these pages immediately rather than mark them for delete. WeRelate is committed to protecting the privacy of living people.--DataAnalyst 12:50, 13 February 2024 (UTC)
You keep adding pages for living people. This is against the rules for WeRelate. Please stop doing this. I don't like having my time wasted having to delete them.--DataAnalyst 13:00, 30 March 2024 (UTC) All persons that I add to the Werelate pages are people that are also in public systems/databases proving they are deceased--Wiswal 13:49, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
if you visit the weblink archief.amsterdam/indexen/persons, you will find person records that show information with only the fact someone is no longer alive. like deceased? with the answer Yes. I am fully aware of the GDPR regulations and the fact that Europe/The Netherlands is much more strict than the USA. So if the archives from the City of Amsterdam or other archives publish information, that should be according to the local regulations. My goal is to add formal proof to each person I have added, but refreshing/checking is not that easy considering the number of persons I have added previously.--Wiswal 11:37, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
