Living people [22 February 2012]

I noticed that you have created pages for people who are likely still living (for example: this person). WeRelate's policy does not allow the creation of pages for living people due to privacy concerns. Please delete your Person and Family pages for living people by clicking on More>Delete from the menu on the left. You can use templates such as Template:Pedigree3 to connect family lines using a chart on your User page. --Jennifer (JBS66) 06:59, 18 February 2012 (EST)

Thank you. I'm new. I have a question: is there a way to put, place holders for living people? I had put "living stephens" because it contains no information about the person but allows me to put a placeholder then add people under it who are deceased.--Spork 19:57, 20 February 2012 (EST)

WeRelate used to allow placeholder pages, but no longer does. This is because they are essentially empty pages that provide no details to future contributors. You can use the Pedigree template that I referenced above on your user page. This can help to connect family lines in a graphical way. Another option is to use links in the text box. For example, say a grandfather is deceased, his child is living, but his grandchild is deceased. You can put a link on the grandfather's and/or grandchild's page linking to each other. Here is an example of that: Person:Ralph Pigott (1). --Jennifer (JBS66) 08:49, 22 February 2012 (EST)
