Welcome

Welcome to WeRelate, your virtual genealogical community. We're glad you have joined us. At WeRelate you can easily create ancestor web pages, connect with cousins and other genealogists, and find new information. To get started:

  1. Take the WeRelate tour to see what you can do.
  2. Review the tutorials to learn how to make wiki pages for your ancestors.
  3. Read the etiquette page to learn expected behavior in a wiki.

If you need any help, I will be glad to answer your questions. Just click on my signature link below and then click on the “Leave a message” link under my name in the upper left corner of my profile page. Thanks for participating and see you around!--Jstump 14:10, 13 November 2008 (EST)

Leach - Beach [30 December 2008]

Shar,

I'm not directly related to either Leach or Beach. I'm volunteering for werelate.org, working on the merging of duplicate records. You must have been notified because a record you were watching was merged with another record. See who else is watching that page and contact them. Best of luck to you.

A few Wiki Editing Suggestions [30 December 2008]

Editing in the Wiki environment is a bit of a pain.

To prevent multiple sentences from running together, you have to do more than just one line break.

Alternatively, you can preface each line with either a # or an asterisk and it will turn the results into a list. Example:

I am researching:

  • Betz in Buffalo, NY
  • Barber in Wardsboro, VT
  • Doolittle in Winchester, NH

Or this:

  1. Early colonists in New England
  2. Emigres from Schwenningen, Wuerttemberg
  3. Spiritual Wife-ism in Revolutionary Massachusetts

There's a decent tutorial if you click on "help formatting" on the edit page.

Changes to Geiger tree [25 August 2009]

You made changes to my Geiger family, are we related or are you just messing around. I have research all my branches and don't appreciate new stuff showing up without consultation, please stop messing with my tree.

I made the changes to the Geiger page or pages as a volunteer administrator. I am working on the duplicate review project. I am sorry but there are too many duplicate pages on WeRelate to notify everyone before the pages are merged. That is why you are notified by email after the pages are merged. Is there a problem with the data that was merged? You may merge your own duplicates. Select MyRelate on the blue menu bar and then select Show Duplicates from the list --Beth 15:37, 25 August 2009 (EDT)

You are registered under two user names [31 August 2009]

I verified that you are registered as both SharC and also as User:SharCraig. You have a 5,000-person GEDCOM file uploaded under your SharCraig account.--Dallan 00:21, 1 September 2009 (EDT)
