Sijbren Sipsma [13 February 2011]

Hello Drea2711, thank you for all of your additions to the Sipsma family. I do have a question about Person:Sijbren Sipsma (2) - he is now showing as having duplicate parents. I think one family is actually a first wife of his son. If you need any help sorting this out, please let me know. --Jennifer (JBS66) 18:30, 11 February 2011 (EST)

Ahh!! I guess I just having difficulty figuring how to work this thing. It was going so easy, and now I am just not adding things right. I will get it worked out. thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'll get it fixed, sometime. lol.

Thanks again.--Drea2711 20:02, 11 February 2011 (EST)

Hi Jennifer,

As far as you can tell, does it (and everything else I put in there) look correct now?

THis is awesome, as this is actually my family tree.

Thank you for all of your hard work. Please let me know if you have any questions, and I will continue to work on this as I am able.

Actually, is there anyway for me to "accept" all of the branches of this tree that you have created, rather then going to each one and selecting "add to my tree"?

Thank you for anything you might be able to do to guide me, as I am obviously new!!

Thank you, Andrea (drea2711)--Drea2711 20:23, 11 February 2011 (EST)

Hello Andrea, it's always nice to see that people who connect into this project I've been working on find their way to WeRelate! I've added all of the marriages for Ferwerderadeel and Leeuwarderadeel Friesland (births for L'deel too) to WeRelate. It looks like you are watching quite a few of the pages that are connected to the Sipsma family, but you can add an entire branch to your tree by:

  1. Go to the page for the relative that is closest to you, then click on Trees
  2. There is a section there that says "Include Relatives". From there you should be able to customize a group to be automatically added to a tree. Mind you, I've never tried this feature...

Sijbren Sipsma looks all set now, thank you. One question I have is on Person:Donald Buck (1). If he is still living, the page will need to be renamed to Living Buck. That is because WR does not allow pages for living people for privacy reasons.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions! Also, just in case you don't know about this site yet: http://www.allefriezen.nl has scanned images for birth/marriage/death certificates for many of the Friesland municipalities. --Jennifer (JBS66) 07:22, 12 February 2011 (EST)

Wow! That site you gave me is Wonderful!! I found out a lot more information. I still need to add more to my Tree on here, but I would love your help to better referance the material. I tried to look at your referance Titles and such, but not sure how to exactly input it correctly. Would you mind helping me so that I do that correctly as well?

Thank you again, so much! Andrea (drea2711)--Drea2711 03:35, 13 February 2011 (EST)

Oh, and Donald Buck is deceased, I just do not currently have the correct death date for him. I added and "about" deceased date. Thanks again!--Drea2711 03:37, 13 February 2011 (EST)

I'm glad that you liked AlleFriezen - it is a wonderful site! The other helpful site is FamilySearch. This link points to their Netherlands, Civil Registration, 1792-1952 collection. You can choose a province and gemeente (municipality). They have birth/marriage/death certificates scanned in for many geementen that AlleFriezen doesn't yet. The only difference is that it isn't searchable by name - you need to find the date on http://www.genlias.nl first.

I added in a few source citations. The BMD records for the Netherlands are known as the Burgerlijke Stand, so that is what I sourced it back to. Each gemeente has its own source page for the Burgerlijke Stand, such as Source:Leeuwarderadeel, Friesland, Netherlands. Burgerlijke Stand.

We have quite a few families from Friesland in WeRelate, so before you enter a new family, do a quick search to make sure they aren't already here. That will save you a lot of time! --Jennifer (JBS66) 08:55, 13 February 2011 (EST)

Ter Luyne source [6 March 2011]

Hello Andrea, I see you are busy today with lots of new additions to the van der Lune pages! I wanted to just caution you about one thing. Though I am not familiar with the Luinstra, P. Ter Luyne source you are citing, I have noticed a few errors with it so far. Since it is a secondary source, and the primary source is easily available on AlleFriezen, it would be preferable to cite back to that original document. I fixed the dates on Person:Sijtske Burmania (2) and added the Burgerlijke Stand source (that is what is viewable on AF). You may want to keep the Ter Luyne citation and make a note when there are discrepancies for future researchers. If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to post. --Jennifer (JBS66) 14:35, 6 March 2011 (EST)

That Makes sense. Thank you, and sorry about that. Thank you for letting me know, I will be sure to be more careful with that.

Thanks again.
