THOMAS & HAMILTON

John FLINT's 3rd wife was Elizabeth (most databases list her maiden name as HUBBARD) who married Evan THOMAS, then William HAMILTON before John FLINT.

Children of Evan and Elizabeth THOMAS:

  1. Mary who married William MOORE
  2. Rachel who married Reason REAGAN
  3. Hannah (Anna) who married Dennis DAVIS
  4. John H who married Hannah FLINT 1813 [daughter of John FLINT who married Elizabeth (HUBBARD)THOMAS/HAMILTON in 1815]
  5. Samuel THOMAS who married Elizabeth ISLEY

In the history of Madison County, Illinois was the Wood River Massacre. Some accounts state that William Moore's wife (he referred to her as Polly) mounted her horse and hurried home, implying she did not pick up the youngest child. Volney P. Richmond, who interviewed William Moore's brother Abel, gave an account that shows she picked up the child, as a doctor was called to dress the child's wounds.

In the Greene County, Illinois history, there are biographies of Samuel THOMAS (mentioned within his bio are brother-in-laws Reason REAGAN and Dennis DAVIS) and John W HUITT.

HYPOTHESIS

I believe it is my William FLINT born 1826 Kentucky, died May 4, 1901 Mitchell County, Kansas that is living with John HUITT and family in 1850. I believe he is the son of Thomas and Nancy (STATTON)FLINT.This Thomas is the son of John FLINT who died October 29, 1819 in Caldwell County, Kentucky. Due to Thomas' age and tax records, he missing for several years in Kentucky when he was over 21 years of age, I believe he was in Illinois with his step-siblings.
