    PENTICUS, JOHN, Charlestown 1638 or earlier, freem. 13 May 1640,
by w. Joanna, wh. was wid. of Edward Larkin, had John, b. 6 May
1659, and d. 19 Oct. 1687, aged near 90. Perhaps he had former w.
He and w. Joanna join. the ch. 16 Sept. 1639. See Budington's Hist.
Often in rec. of town and ch. the name is Penticost.

nor ch. ISAAC, Eastham s. prob. of Robert of roxbury, m. 7 Oct.
1685, Apphia, d. of Samuel Freeman, had Apphia, b. 24 Feb. 1687;
Mary, 7 Aug. 1690; Isaac, 29 July 1693; Robert, 15 Feb. 1696; Elizabeth
11 July 1698; Joseph, 1 Nov. 1700, d. young; Solomon, 15 Jan. 1703;
and Joseph, again, 24 Feb. 1705. JACOB, Roxbury, s. of Robert, m. 10
feb. 1685, Elizabeth d. of Stephen Paine the sec. of Rehoboth, had Robert,
b. 27 Dec. foll. d. soon; Robert, again, 16 Mar. 1687, d. in few wks.;
and the nest on rec. is Rebecca, 11 July 1702, after more than fifteen
yrs. interval; Ann, 2 Apr. 1705; Mary, 16 Nov. 1707, d. in few mos.;
and Benjamin, wh. d. 17 Feb. 1713, prob. quite young. JOHN, Roxbury,
br. of the preced. m. 1669, Bethia Fisher, of Dedham, wh. d. the
same yr. and he d. 18 Mar. 1670. JOSEPH, Roxbury, br. of the preced.
by w. Mary had Bethia, b. 6 Nov. 1676, posthum. he being k. by the Ind.
21 Apr. preced. at Sudbury fight. His wid. m. 28 Feb. 1678, Joshua
Sever. RICHARD, Roxbury, same in the Francis from Ipswich, 1634,
aged 27, with w. Mary, 30, and d. Mary, 3 1/2, beside Stephen Beckett, of
11 yrs. unit. with the ch. early, as did his w. freem. 4 Mar. 1635; but
of f. mo. or ch. nothing is kn. beyond that, only I have a meager note,
that he was liv. in 1648. he may have rem. to long distance in Conn.
Mr. Drake gave this man the name of Pepy in his transcript for Geneal.
Reg. XIV. 331 and 2, but on the latter p. has it both ways. I had nine
yrs. bef. print. in 3 Mas. hist. Coll. X 143 and 4 the copy sent me by
our countryman, Henry Stephens, the accomplish. assist. at the British
Museum, and perhaps his reading may seem equal, prob. ROBERT,
Roxbury, perhaps br. of the preced. m. 14 Mar. 1643, Elizabeth Johnson, had
Elizabeth bapt. 3 Mar. 1644, d. in few days; Elizabeth again, b. 25 May, bapt. 1
