27 Apr. 1651; Benjamin, 15 May 1653, d. young; Robert, 21, bapt. 29
Apr. 1655; Sarah, b. 28 Apr. 1657, whose bapt. is lost from the rec.;
Isaac, 26 Apr. bapt. 1 May 1659; and Jacob, 28 July, bapt. 4 Aug.
1661. He was freem. 10 May 1643; his w. d. 5 Jan. 1684; and he,
the "aged Christian," as the ch. rec. calls him, d. 7 July foll. having,
three days bef. made his will, in wh. he ment. s. Isaac, and Jacob, ds.
Elizabeth wh. had m. 13 May 1662, John Everett; Mary, wh. had m. 28
Oct. 1669, Samuel Everett, both of Dedham; Sarah, w. of John Mason
of Boston, and Bethia, sole ch. of Joseph, who was k. in service, with
many others of his townsmen under Wadsworth at Sudbury. His s.
Robert had been tak. by the Ind. at Squakheag fight, 4 Sept. 1675, under
capt. Beers, when report said he was k. but Mrs. Rowlandson saw
him in the foll. winter, and he prob. d. in captiv.

    PEPPERELL, ANDREW, Newcastle, s. of the first William, a merch. m.
1707, Jane, d. of Robert Eliot, had Sarah, and Margery, and d. a 1713.
The wid. m. 25 Nov. 1714, Charles Frost of Kittery. WILLIAM, Kittery,
came from Cornwall, or Devonsh., a fisherman, a. 1676, to Isle of
Shoals, thence in 3 or 4 yrs. rem. to K. m. Margery, d. of John Bray of
K. had Andrew, b. 1 July 1681; Mary, 5 Sept. 1685; Margery, 1689;
Joanna, 22 June 1692; Meriam, 3 Sept. 1694; Dorothy, 23 July 1698;
and Jane, 1701; beside the famous Sir William, 27 June 1696. He
was a wealthy merch. prud. magistr. and d. 15 Feb. 1734, at the age of
85, says Farmer. His wid. d. 24 Apr. 1741. Mary m. 4 Sept. 1702,
John Frost, bore him seventeen ch. bec. third w. 12 Aug. 1745, of Rev.
Benjamin Colman, of Boston; and for third h. a three yrs aft. m. Benjamim
Prescott of Danvers, and d. 1766; Margery m. Pelatiah Whittemore,
wh. had by her four ch. and was drown. near Isle of Shoals, and
she m. Elihu Gunnison; Joanna m. Dr. George Jackson; Merian m.
Andrew Tyler of Boston; Dorothy m. Andrew Watkins, and next, Joseph
Newmarch; and Jane m. Benjamin Clark, and next, William Tyler
of Boston. � * WILLIAM, Kittery, s. of the preced. was a merch. of
great skill, energy and affluence, rep. 1726, of the counc. 1727 thirty-two
yrs. command. of the land forces in the happy expedit. 1745, against
Cape Breton, for conq. of wh. he was created baronet, and d. 6 July
1759, aged 63; so that his only s. Andrew, H. C. 1743, wh. d. 1 Mar.
1751, could not enjoy the title. this was, however, reviv. in the favor of
William Sparhawk, H. C. 1766, the gr.s. of Sir William, by his sovereign,
with the name and arms of Pepperell, in 1774, but again became
extinct, on his d. 17 Dec. 1816. The wid. of first baronet, d. 16 Nov.
1789; but his only surv. d. Elizabeth and m. 1 May 1742[1], Hon. Nathaniel
Sparhawk of Portsmouth, and the mo. of the next baronet. He m. 21
