    MACY, FRANCIS, m. Sarah, d. of Jeremiah Norcross of Watertown,
but I kn. not whether he was ever in our country, and Bond, 376, was
uncert. whether his name was Merry or Massey. GEORGE, Taunton
1643, was lieut. in Philip's war, rep. 1672 six yrs. d. 17 Aug. 1693,
leav. sev. ds. (of wh. one was prob. Elizabeth wh. m. 15 May 1672, John
Hodges; ano. might be Rebecca, m. 18 Mar. 1690, Benjamin Williams)
but no s. Baylies, I. 287. JOHN, Nantucket, s. of Thomas, m. Deborah,
d. of the first Richard Gardner, had Sarah, b. 3 Apr. 1677; Deborah, 3
Mar. 1679; and Bethia, 8 Apr. 1681; beside Thomas, John, Richard, Jabez,
and Mary; and he d. 14 Oct. 1693; and his wid. m. Stephen Pease.
THOMAS, Newbury, came, it is said, from Chilmark, Co. Wilts, freem.
6 Sept. 1639, m. Sarah Hopcot, wh. d. 1706, aged 94, rem. to Salisbury,
had Sarah, b. 9 July 1644, d. young; Sarah, again, 1 Aug. 1646; Mary,
4 Dec. 1648; and Thomas, 22 Sept. 1653; was rep. 1664, rem. to Nantucket
a. 1659, being there one of the first sett. had six ch. and d. 19 June
1672, or Apr. 1682, by other acco. in 74th yr. Coffin's Newbury; Holmes's
Ann.; Macy's Nantucket, 13-18. His wid. d. 1706, aged 94; d. Sarah m.
11 Apr. 1665, William Worth; Mary m. 11 Apr. 1669, William Bunker;
and Bethia m. 30 Mar. 1670, Joseph Gardner, Thomas jr. d. 3 Dec.
1675.

    MADDOCKS, MADDOCK, MATTOCKS or MADDOX, EDMUND, Boston,
m. 14 Jan. 1652, Rebecca Munnings, had Mary, b. 4 Jan. 1656; and
John, 12 Mar. 1657. HENRY, Saco 1683, sw. fealty that yr. to Mass.
rem. to Boston, had w. Rachel, and d. Rachel, b. 24 July 1673, d. soon;
and again, Rachel, b. 2 Sept. 1677. HENRY, Watertown, m. 21 May
1662, Mary, only d. of Roger Wellington, had only ch. John, b. 16 May
1663; and his wid. m. 16 Sept. 1679, John Coolidge. JAMES, Lynn,
came, it is said, from Bristol 1642, and d. at Newbury. JOHN, Boston,
perhaps elder br. of the preced. came in the Planter, from London,
early in 1635, call. a sawyer, aged 43, was at Lynn, and last at Newbury,
there d. 24 Apr. 1643. JOHN, Watertown, s. of Henry of the
same, m. 23 June 1689, Ruth, d. of Caleb Church, had Ruth, b. 13 or
19 Feb. 1691; John, 22 Jan. 1693; Mary, 4 Dec. 1694; Sarah, 22
Dec. 1696; Henry, 18 Oct. 1698; Caleb, 29 Aug. 1700; and Joanna,
4 Oct 1702. He d. 1 Feb. aft. and his wid. m. 25 July 1708, Joseph
Child.

    MADER, ROBERT, Boston, freem. 1643, of wh. I kn. no more, but
that, on join with the ch. 16 Apr. of that yr. he is termed serv. to our br.
William Franklin.
