ROBERT Portsmouth, br. of John, went to Barbados, from N. E. came
back, liv. at Kittery, a. 1663, built many vessels; by sec. w. Mary had
Richard, bef. ment.; Elizabeth Wh. m. Humphrey Eliot; Robert; Bridget,
wh. m. Rev. William Scriven; Mary; and Sarah. His will, of 18 June
1674, pro. 6 July foll. names s. Richard, also, so that we may assume he
was b. by the former w. In the inv. of £890, large for that neighb. are
includ. eight negro slaves, but their aggreg. value is only £111. His
wid. m. Francis Champernoon. ROBERT, Portsmouth, s. of the preced.
m. Dorcas, d. of Joseph Hammond of Kittery. Of this fam. five had
been, in 1823, gr. at Harv. and two of them were memb. of Congr.
CUTTER, EPHRAIM, Charlestown S. of Richard, m. 11 Feb. 1679,
Bethia Wood, had Ephraim; Jonathan, b. 5 May 1685; Bethia, 2 Dec.
1686; both these at Cambridge; Mary, d. young; Hannah, 22 July
1690; and John, 23 July 1700. GERSHOM, Cambridge, br. of the
preced. m. 6 Mar. 1678, Lydia Hall, d. of wid. Mary, had Gershom, b.
1 June 1679; Lydia, 14 Sept. 168; Hannah, 6 Nov. 1684; and
Isabel, 9 May 1687; and he d. 1738. NATHANIEL, Cambridge, youngest
s. of Richard, m. 8 Oct. 1688, Mary, d. of Thomas Fillebrown, wh. d.
14 Mar. 1714, had Nathaniel, Jacob, Mary, Ebenezer, John, Richard,
and Elizabeth but the two last by sec. w. Elizabeth RICHARD, Cambridge,
freem. 2 June 1641, ar. co. 1643, by first w. Elizabeth had Elizabeth b. 15 July
1645, d. at 18 yrs.; Samuel, 3 Jan. 1647; Thomas, 19 July 1648, d.
soon; William, 22 Feb. 1650; Ephraim; Gershom; and Mary; all,
says Mitchell, b. and bapt. in this ch. exc. Thomas. His w. d. 5 Mar.
1662, not 1663, as Harris, Epit. I. has it, aged a. 42, and he m. 14 Feb.
1663, Harris, 23 (wh. was bef. the d. of Elizabeth as by him giv.) Frances,
wid. of Isaac Amsden, had Nathaniel, 11 Dec. 1663, bapt. 24 Jan. 1664;
