wh. d. young shortly bef. her mo. and ano. Deborah wh. d. few
weeks after her mo. wh. d. 26 Jan. 1689, Mary, b. 7 Mar. 1680; Ann,
30 Mar. 1684; and Martha, 29 Mar. 1686, were all b. at Charlestown;
but Elizabeth 12 Jan. 1678; and Jonathan, 8 Jan. 1682, at Cambridge, H. C.
1699. He was freem. 1677, one of the import. Comtee. of Safety
at the insurrect. against Andross, rem. to Boston a. 1702, when he
was chos. a Counsel. to his d. 31 Oct. 1717. Ano. d. was Sarah Foye
at Charlestown, and she outliv. her f. Mary m. George Vaughn of
Portsmouth, and d. 3 Feb. 1700. He was a prosper. merch. and the ds.
m. other great connex. Elizabeth to Daniel Oliver; Martha to Stoddard; and
Ann to Oliver Noyes. Jonathan, his s. was made the royal Gov. of his
native prov. 1730 to 41, and d. in the chair of Gov. of N. J. 31 Aug.
1757, his wid. long, surv. and his s. Andrew, H. C. 1724, and Jonathan,
H. C. 1728, enjoy. reputa. old age. See Eliot's Biog,. Dict. EDWARD,
Boston 1630, came, prob. in the fleet with Winthrop was made freem.
with prefix of respect, 18 May 1631, and in his latter days prob. for sec.
w. m. wid. Wormwood. His No. on the list of ch. mem. is 60, but there
his name is in the old copy Edmund. EDWARD, Boston, s. of the preced.
m. 8 Jan. 1656, Mary Wormwood, d.-in-law (says the rec.) of Mr. Edward
B. sen. had Satisfaction, b. 23 Feb. 1657; and John, 1658; and Mary,
4 Apr. 1659. GREGORY, Braintree, came to Boston 1634, was freem. 13
May 1640, bef. wh. he had assist. in found. of the ch. at Br. had Samuel, b. 24
Aug. 1637; Mary. 8 July 1639; Joseph, 25 Dec. 1641; Gregory, and two
other s. earlier or later, and d. 21 June 1659[1]. His wid. Catharine, in her
will of 1680, names three s. Josiah, Moses, John, and d. Elizabeth Gilbert,
whose h. I cannot guess, if she were m. nor her f. if not; beside Mary
Marsh
, prob. w. of Alexander, m. 19 Dec. 1655. GREGORY, Braintree,
mariner, s. of the preced. had Joseph. JEREMY, Ipswich, came in the
Susan and Ellen, 1635, aged 22, freem. 13 Mar 1639, by first w. had
Samuel, H. C. 1659; Jeremy; Mary; and John; perhaps more, if she liv. to
1652. But on 30 Sept. of this yr. he made contr. of m. with Mary
Lockwood, wh. perhaps was d. of Edmund, by her had Judith, b. 19
Aug. 1658; Mary, 12 July 1660; David, 1662; and Richard, 10 Sept.
1665; and d. Mar. 1693. A wid. B. prob. his, d. Oct. 1700. Mary,
d. of the first w. m. 23 June 1662, Joseph Russell. JEREMY,
Boston, 1672, perhaps s. of the preced. d. 6 Jan. or Feb. 1722, aged
81 and 1/2 yrs. JOHN, Braintree, by w. Sarah had Sarah, b. 27
June 1656; John, wh. d. 9 Feb. 1659; and John, again, 11 Mar.
1659. Perhaps he was s. of Gregory the first. JOSEPH, Milton, prob.
