d. of Benjamin Cooley, and d. in mid. life, 21 Nov. 1681, leav. Joseph,
James, Samuel, Mary, and Hannah; but whether these ch. were all by the
sec. w. or whether she m. sec. h. is not told to me. Of the s. Joseph soon
rem. to Malden; James to Milford; and in short time this name had vanish.

Nathaniel, 1676; possib. Esther, 1683; and Samuel, 1684. One Nathaniel
d. at M. 1692; and that Nathaniel, wh. fell in Philip's war may
have been a stranger to this blood. That s. of the first John wh. bore
this name would have been among, the later inhab. of M. PETER, Salem,
m. 27 May 1672, wid. Rachel Dellaclose. Felt. II. 589, shows, that Mrs. B.
a French lady, from the Isle of Jersey, join. the ch. of S. 4 Aug. 1678. In
a MS. he had reduc. her name, when wid. to the first syl. RICHARD, Braintree
1637, had d. Jane, and from Winthrop II. 348 is seen all that is kn. RICHARD,

Zechariah, b. 22 Sept. 1660; Martha, 1 Apr. 1663; and Barnabas,
posthum. bapt. 1666. In some rec. will be seen Theophilus, b. 26 Apr.
1659, but perhaps it is an error of the yr. he was town clk. 1648, and
rep. 1660 to his d. 23 July 1665. Perhaps he was one of the first sett.
at Derby, as ment. by Trumbull, Col. Rec. I. 271, 322. He left good
est. to his ch. and wid. wh. m. William Fowler. Of the ch. a suffic. story
