This book has very little in the way of primary source documentation, but I have found it to be surprisingly accurate in all the lines I have checked out. The author visited Whitmore Hall in Staffordshire, and suggests a connection which is unproven and unlikely. She also rehashes the fable of John Whitmore as the father of Thomas Wetmore of Middletown and Francis Whitmore of Cambridge. Although John may have been the father of one, DNA testing of descendants of the two has proven they were not brothers. -- H. B. Whitmore
