Usage Tips

Description
Images and some indexes of baptisms/births, marriages, and burials that occurred in the Roman Catholic, Evangelical Lutheran, and Reformed Church parishes, as well Jewish congregations in Slovakia. Includes records from archives in Prešov, Bytča, Košice, Levoča, Banská Bystrica, Nitra and Bratislava. Records from other archives will be added.

NOTE: Only baptisms seem to be indexed, and to search the records you will need to know the Slovakian name of the parish, not the Hungarian name which appears in many of the actual records. (See Slovakia Church and Synagogue Books, Place Names Table (FamilySearch Historical Records) for help in translating the Hungarian parish name into the Slovakian name.)
