Wymondham (pronounced phonetically) is a village in the Borough of Melton in Leicestershire, England. It is part of a civil parish which since 1936 also covers the nearby hamlet of Edmondthorpe. The parish had a population of 623 at the 2001 UK census, increasing to 632 at the 2011 census. It is close to the county borders with Lincolnshire and Rutland, nearby places being Garthorpe, Teigh (in Rutland) and South Witham (in Lincolnshire).

A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Wymondham from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"WYMONDHAM, a parish, with a village, in Melton-Mowbray [registration] district, Leicester; 1¾ mile NE of Whissendine [railway] station, and 6½ E of Melton-Mowbray. It has a post-office under Oakham. Acres: 2,852. Real property: £5,953. Population: 851. Houses: 180. The property is much subdivided. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough. Value: £500. The church is cruciform, with W tower and spire; and was interiorly restored in 1864. There are an Independent chapel, an endowed grammar-school with £150 a year, and a national school for girls."
