Edmondthorpe is a small village in Leicestershire, close to the border with the county of Rutland. It is now a part of the parish of Wymondham in the Melton District of Leicestershire, England. Between 1894 and 1936 it was a civil parish in Melton Mowbray Rural District. It was absorbed into Wymondham in 1936.

There are several families that have lived in Edmondthorpe over many centuries. These include the Veaseys and Extons, who are detailed in transcriptions of the census for the village.

A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Edmondthorpe from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"EDMONDTHORPE, a parish in Melton-Mowbray [registration] district, Leicester; on the verge of the county, adjacent to the Melton-Mowbray canal, 3¾ miles ESE of Saxby [railway] station, and 7 E by S of Melton-Mowbray. Post town, Wymondham, under Oakham. Acres: 1,753. Real property: £2,867. Population: 233. Houses: 49. The property is not much divided. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough. Value: £630. Patron: the Lord Chancellor. The church is neat, and has a pinnacled tower. Charities, £13.
