The Thamesdown District of Wiltshire, England was a district municipality formed in 1974 under the Local Government Act of 1972 to cover the northeast corner of the county, specifically the municipal borough of Swindon and the Highworth Rural District which surrounded it. In 1997 the area became Swindon unitary authority, having the powers of a non-metropolitan county and district council combined.
