Sycamore Township was organized in 1825 and was formerly a portion of Crawford Township in the county of Crawford. (The county of Wyandot was formed in 1845.) It is what is known as a fractional township and comprises twenty four sections in Township 1 south, Range 15 east (first principal meridian). It is six miles in length from north to south and four in breadth from east to west. It derives its name from Sycamore Creek. This township lies in the extreme northeast of Wyandot County. It is bounded on the north by Seneca County, on the east by Crawford County, on the south by Eden Township, and on the west by Tymochtee Township.[1]
