Helmsley Rural District was an administrative division in the geographical centre of the North Riding of Yorkshire based on the town of Helmsley. Since the municipal reorganization of 1974, the area covered by Helmsley Rural District has been located in the administrative District of Ryedale, North Yorkshire.
