According to YDNA testing, Jeremiah Burchfield was fathered by Mr. Williams. Jeremiah was born about 1793 in Burke Co., NC. Jeremiah Burchfield married Rebecca Short. children include Elizabeth (William E. Holyfield), Sarah (William Short), Thomas (Alsey Ross & Malinda Meadows), William (Nancy Ann McKinney), Noah (Nancy Christian), Nathaniel (Eliza Jane Hall), and Charlotte Burchfield (John E. Rose). Rebecca Short Burchfield later married Bartley Rose. (see below). Children include Mary, Isaiah, Sarah, Eli, Henry, and George Rose.

John Noah Burchfield

John Noah was born about 1797. According to Burke Co., NC records, John Noah Burchfield was fathered by Henry Kerley. YDNA testing has confirmed this relationship. John Noah first married Charlotte Gillespie on Nov. 14, 1817, in Burke Co., NC. After Charlotte’s death, John Noah married Sarah Gilbert Baines on Dec. 29, 1875, in Swain Co., NC. John Burchfield died July 9, 1884, according to Sarah’s testimony in her Civil War Widow’s Pension Application. Children include Sarah Louise (Uriah Charles Burns), Zachariah D. or David Tehaza (Elizabeth Alvaline Shule & Catherine Unknown), Robert L. (Sarah A. Battle), Samuel (Mary Ann Shular), and Elizabeth Burchfield.

Bartley Rose

Bartley Rose was born May 15, 1814, and died Aug. 8, 1898. Bartley Rose was a half-brother to Jeremiah Burchfield. Bartkey father was Israel Rose. Israel and Elizabeth Burchfield married before 1810.--Jacie9 16:51, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
