Parental Discrepancy [6 December 2008]
Was he the son of Thomas or of Nicholas?--jillaine 21:36, 5 December 2008 (EST)
- 1. Source that he was son of Thomas White is Descendants of Thomas White of Weymouth, Mass., 1630-1907, p. 5-6.--jillaine 07:44, 6 December 2008 (EST)
From: [Family Tree (WorldConnect)]:
- The Joseph White who married Lydia Rogers is probably not the Joseph White born about 1645, son of Nicholas White and Susanna Humphrey. Nicholas' son Joseph appears to have married a Mary and had children in Taunton from about 1682 (or earlier) to 1697 (see, for example, RootsWeb database :a44731), while Joseph White and Lydia Rogers had children in Weymouth and then Mendon from 1662 to 1681. Lydia Rogers died in 1727, so these cannot be the same Joseph who married twice (I guess I am assuming that divorce was virtually non-existent). Also, Joseph born 1645 was a bit young to be married and fathering children in 1662.
