John Ruddick and John Goodenow - one person or two? [6 June 2011]

I see that you have "Ruddick" as the middle name of John Goodenow, brother of Edmund, both early settlers of Sudbury, MA.

History of Sudbury (1911) claims there were two different people:

  1. John Ruddick
  2. John Goodenow

The implication of this page is that they were one and the same person. Please explain why you've put "Ruddick" as the middle name of John. Thanks!

Neal, it *may* be accurate; we just have to find out more details. History of Sudbury did not have a lot of information on John Ruddick, so there could actually be some evidence that they were one and the same man and the 1911 history was wrong. We can keep this notation here and see what arises. jillaine 12:50, 18 August 2009 (EDT)
Found that John Rudduck WAS a separate man; he was a witness to John Goodenow's will. Jillaine 12:02, 14 February 2010 (EST)
According to Smith and Sanborn, Eva Belle Kempton III:168, John Ruddock was husband of John's youngest sister Dorothy. They came at the same time as John (and other family members), but apparently had no issue.--Jaques1724 19:40, 6 June 2011 (EDT)
