Shawnee Heritage [21 August 2012]

In order to get things started I will be using Shawnee Heritage by Schutz, Noel and Greene, Don. I realize the accuracy is disputed. It will be used here to begin to try to collaborate with other researchers to find primary sources.--cthrnvl 13:08, 11 March 2011 (EST)

Note: I've added the wikipedia templates to restore the biographical information that was originally added to Cornstalk's page. Not sure why it was deleted, but I'd appreciate it greatly if we could leave the wikipedia information, unless someone has a valid argument for not including it. The original page contained much more information that was much easier for the reader to view and understand. Thanks, Jim

  • If you look at the history of this page you will see that I wrote (removing excerpts from wikipedia to make room for wikipedia template; kentucky tribe of white men). Then in a seperate edit (I like to make each big change separately so it is easy to follow), I added the Wikipedia template that grabs the newest edition of a page from Wikipedia. I read about how to use Wikipedia here and the recommendation is to take out excerpts from Wikipedia articles and add the template instead. That way the WeRelate page will be updated ever time the Wikipedia page is updated (by a 'bot that works once a week , I think. I'm not sure if I am adding the templates correctly. I am watching the pages I added Wikipedia templates to so I can see if the 'bot updates them. And I might end up asking for help to do the templates correctly.--cthrnvl 15:36, 20 August 2012 (EDT)

Ok, we'll see if the next update adds the wikipedia information back correctly. -Jim

I fixed the WP templates, following the Help:Guidelines for use of Wikipedia. I removed the <> around the page titles and fixed the subheading template. The main section heading will be imported on Sunday but the Biography subheading will be updated with the next refresh which only happens a few times a year. I also removed the wikipedia-notice because that will be automatically generated on Sunday. --Jennifer (JBS66) 16:13, 20 August 2012 (EDT)
