Relationship with a King? [30 January 2012]

While an extramarital affair between male royalty/nobility and a low born female would be far from uncommon, leaving the child of such a marriage and the mother utterly destitute would be unusual. Absent something more concrete, I would be happier indicating such a relationship as being noted as "disputed" rather than linked in as the probable fact. --jrm03063 15:08, 30 January 2012 (EST)

No problem indicating it as "disputed" without additional verifiable facts. Unfortunately I don't have access to the genealogy database that was cited or its substantiating facts which would indicate that relationship, so a disputed relationship is perfectly warranted. That's why I think I posted the source as "Unreliable" without that more definitive evidence. Thanks for your input - I know you're deeply involved with these noble lines and I can understand your concern. Let me know if you have any other input or advise. --BobC 15:48, 30 January 2012 (EST)
One other thing. Based on the research I did on the Danish nobility of the time, the story of the relationship with Christian VIII, the current king at the time (1845), doesn't seem to ring true if only for the age difference, that's why it seemed more credible, if such a relationship were possible, it probably would have been with one of the future kings, the younger Frederik VII (born 1808) or Christian IX (born 1818). I notice that Frederik VII, married three times, reportedly had no children, at least legitimate children, so my thought, if such a relationship were valid, Christian IX, married in 1842, would have been the more likely candidate. I know, all speculation. Just a thought in the absence of evidence. What do you think? --BobC 16:01, 30 January 2012 (EST)
