  • At least one researcher assumed that Boleszew Olerzewsky, who later used the name Martin Oleske, was the same person as Martin Olsky in the 1880 census. This does not appear likely for a couple of reasons.
    • Martin Olsky was in the U.S. by 1880. Boleszew claims he immigrated in 1891 or 1901 (depending on the source). His wife and young son immigrated in 1902, so he likely immigrated in 1901. He may have immigrated, gone back to Europe and immigrated again, but his passport application does not imply that he was in the U.S. prior to 1891.
    • Martin Olsky's original surname appears to have been Olszewski (based on his mother's death record and his sister Mary's marriage record). Boleszew's surname was Olerzewski.
  • Contributors shouldn't add the parents of Martin Olsky as the parents of Boleszew Olerzewsky, as you might see in other trees.
  • If someone should find records that prove that Boleszew Olerzewski and Martin Olszewski/Olsky are the same person, then remove the "nomerge" template, address the comments above, and cite sources.--DataAnalyst 02:06, 11 March 2020 (UTC)
