1880 census-Zola; 7; born VA 3 Jan 1898-Washington Post: Outing's Sad Ending: Three Persons Injured in a Runaway Accident. One has small chance to live. Horse driven to a trap becomes frightened at breaking harness and gets beyond driver's control -- vehicle dashed against the curbing and the occupants are all hurt -- woman's skull fractured and surgeon believes her case hopeless. Unconscious in the Street. Begged them not to go. A runaway accident near North Capitol street and Florida avenue yesterday afternoon resulted in the probable fatal injury of Miss O. P. Belote, of Norfolk. William Puller, a baker at the Hotel Raleigh, and Miss Zola Tarrant, of 1219 I street northeast, were both seriously hurt and the latter will be permanently disfigured. 1900 census-Zola Tarrant; boarder; born Oct 1873; 26; single; born VA as are her parents; saleswoman. It is interesting to note that Zola is listed on the same page of the census as James and his wife; Evre (Amiss) Tarrant. They are apparently neighbors - James is at 4 G St, NW and Zola is at 6 G St, NW "Zola died on a Saturday in the AM at Emergency Hospital in Washington, DC. She was 65 years old." so states a family bible belonging to Bobby BUTLER. References
