Zenith Arthur Parke was born on 25 Aug 1867 at Valparaiso, Porter County, Indiana. He was generally known as Arthur. He is listed as Arthur in the 1880 census. Arthur was much the youngest of the three children of William and Catherine Perkins Parke. His mother was 40 when he was born, his father was 54. He was 8 years younger than his older sister Lillian and 10 years younger than oldest brother Will. He was 21 years younger than his half-brother Henry. Perhaps the name Zenith was a hope that his parents expected him to be their last child.
He married Olive Lulu Lockwood, daughter of Daniel Lockwood and Francelia M Brown, in 1891. Arthur and Olive were the parents of two daughters. Arthur and Olive's first daughter Lillie was born in Elgin, IL.
The family moved to Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, around 1901. Arthur's death certificate states that he had been in Chicago for 29 years at the time he died.
He was an Electrician for Edison Co. Arthur was a Mason in Radio Lodge 1082. Arthur and Olive built the house at 735 E 88th Place around 1914. Olive's death certificate states that she lived there for 31 years prior to her death. Their daughter Lillie would also raise her family in this house. In time four different generations of the family would spend time living there.
Arthur died on 13 Mar 1932 at Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, at age 64. He died of Intestinal Flu, duration 2 months.
