OBITUARY FROM BURLINGTON TIMES-NEWS: Wilson Burgess Isley - (Malachi > Philip > Martin > Philip > Henry M.) BURLINGTON — Mr. Wilson Burgess Isley, 84, of 4257 Bellemont-Mt. Hermon Road, died at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs.. Myrtle Payne Isley, who survives, and the late Mrs.. Greta Warren Isley, and the son of Mr. Henry M. Isley and Mrs.. Nannie Russell Isley, both deceased.

He was a member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church. He was a retired brick mason and farmer. He attended Climax School and was a Navy veteran of World War II, with a tour of duty in the Philippine Islands.

Survivors other than his wife of the home include three daughters, Mrs.. Jim (Joyce) Sexton of Cary, Miss Linda Isley of Burlington and Ms. Laurie Thompson of Snow Camp; a stepdaughter, Mrs.. J.M. (Elizabeth) Murray III of Burlington; a sister, Mrs.. Evelyn Boone of Burlington; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs.. Carrie Welch; and two brothers, Mr. Eugene Isley and Mr. Elmer Isley. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Rick Moser. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park, Burlington, Alamance County, North Carolina.

The family will be at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 7 to 9 Friday evening and at other times at 4351 Bellemont-Mt. Hermon Road. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, P.O. Box 2122, Burlington, N.C. 27216-2122.
