Wilson E. Hartzell, one of the well known men of this community, the home just north of North Benton station, died at Lakeside hospital, Cleveland Saturday evening at eight o'clock, death being due to a complication of troubles. For the past eleven weeks he had been under hospital treatment.
For several years deceased had been in poor health, a sufferer from dropsy and other troubles recently gangrene developing in one of his toes. Thursday last amputation of the limb was made and hope was had that health might through this be regained, but Saturday evening about five o'clock a relapse came and death soon followed.
Wilson Hartzell was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Hartzell and was born on the farm where he died May 12, 1854, he being in the 65th year of his age. Throughout all of his life he had followed the work of the farm.
Deceased was a man enjoying the friendship and esteem of all who knew him and his long suffering and consequent death is of deep regret to all. Surviving is his wife and one sister, Mrs. George Wilson, the latter also residing near North Benton station.
Funeral services will be conducted from the house Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock.
