Wilma Rose, was born to Margaret (Brophy) and Charles Fuhs on March 31, 1907, with older siblings Harry, Carl, Nellie, Ina, Charles Jr, Marjorie, Ann, and Helen and younger siblings, Ella, Wayne, Glen and Kathryn.
Wilma was born in Indian Territory Oklahoma near Bartlesville, before Oklahoma became the 46th State on November 16, 1907. She was baptized a Catholic. Wilma returned with her family to Kansas. She was married twice, first to Mort Kramer, then last to Earnest Hamilton, who preceded her in death in 1965.
Wilma would start every day by putting on lipstick even if staying home. She loved to fish, bringing a little folding chair along with her cane pole. She loved housework and would set a beautiful table. It was a family joke that Wilma would have a napkin even if she had nothing to eat.
She maintained a sweet gentle nature throughout her life. She had a special love for children, always comforting any one who needed her. It quickly made her Kathryn's "favorite sister" and Kathryn's six childrens "favorite aunt."
Wilma died of heart failure in October 1975 and buried in Garnett KS cemetery.
